Police have charged baton on the mass protest staged by Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal (RPP-N) on Friday. Scuffle between the security personnel and the cadres and leaders of RPP-N took place when the latter was moving towards the Constituent Assembly building at New Baneshwor in the capital. The protesters were demanding Nepal to declare a Hindu nation. The protest rally was started from Babarmahal and was headed by the party leader Kamal Thapa. The participants became out of control soon after reaching Baneshwor. Despite the efforts made by chairman Thapa to his participants not to breach the restricted area, the mob had crossed the prohibited territory. Chairman Kamal Thapas brother and Constituent Assembly member Ganesh Thapa was himself involved in breaching the restricted area.
