A Muslim, is a follower of the religion of Islam, a monotheistic Abrahamic religion based on the Quran. Muslims consider the Quran to be the precisely word of God as revealed to the Islamic prophet Muhammad. They also follow the teachings and practices of Muhammad as recorded in traditional accounts calledhadith. "Muslim" is an Arabic word meaning "one who submits to God". A female Muslim is sometimes called a "Muslimah". Most Muslims accept as a Muslim anyone who has publicly prominent the declaration of faith  which states: There is no god but God, Muhammad is the messenger of God.

The religious practices of Muslims are enumerated in the Five Pillars of Islam, which, in addition to Shahadah, consist of daily prayers , fasting during Ramadan, almsgiving , and the pilgrimage to Mecca at least once in a lifetime. Among all, one is Muslim Ashura ceremony.  The root for the word Ashura has the meaning of tenth in Semitic languages; hence the name of the commemoration literally translated, means "the tenth day". According to the orientalist A.J. Wensinck, the name is derived from the Hebrew ʿāsōr, with the Aramaic determinative ending. The day is indeed the tenth day of the month.

The Day of Ashura is a national holiday in some Muslim countries, with thousands taking part in annual rituals which include people whipping and cutting themselves with chains and knives. Other Shi’ites were seen drenched in blood during the processions in India, Iraq, Lebanon and Afghanistan. Young children carried large knives through the street and were seen with blood pouring from head wounds.  There were similar scenes in Lahore, Pakistan, where men were seen with open wounds and scars as they lashed each other.  We could see this heart shivering sceens in the clips.
